Ryan Hanson
Lead Pastor
Ryan is the lead pastor here at The Light KC and he still can’t believe he gets to do what he loves for a living. Ryan loves to teach, mobilize, lead teams and is passionate about raising up young leaders. He’s been bi-vocational for nearly 20 years, working with students, young adults, in discipleship and as a teaching pastor as well as working at Trane HVAC as an engineer, operations leader, and sales leader. Ryan has an undergrad degree in mechanical engineering from Calvin University, master's in business from Cornerstone University, and master's in divinity from Wesley Seminary at Indiana Wesleyan University.
Ryan is married to Andrea and has three very fun and crazy kids: Eliana, Grace, and Wyatt.
Ryan has a diverse set hobbies, ranging from building furniture to photography. He has been active with World Vision participating in triathlons, marathons, and ultramarathons to raise money to end the water crisis and bring clean water to the 2.2 billion people who don't have access.

Curtis Biswell
Worship Leader
For nearly two decades, Curtis has been a leading figure in worship leadership, guiding congregations towards deeper spiritual engagement. His experience spans a wide variety of settings, including dynamic youth camps, worship nights, college campuses, and both intimate inner-city churches and large multi-campus suburban environments. Curtis holds a Bachelor’s degree in Ministry Leadership and an Associate of Arts in Worship Leadership from Kansas Christian College.
Throughout his journey, Curtis has worked with numerous church communities, bringing meaningful contributions to each. A key aspect of his leadership is intentional mentorship—he has devoted a significant portion of his career to developing individuals, helping them grow in both character and competence. His commitment to leadership development has impacted a substantial percentage of those he's worked with, resulting in lasting transformations.
Curtis is driven by a passion to inspire growth, foster excellence, and nurture meaningful relationships within worship and pastoral leadership. HIs mission is to create transformative content, provide valuable coaching for worship leaders and pastors, and help connect them with churches in need.

JoBeth Crank
Next Gen Director
At The Light KC, we’re passionate about walking alongside the next generation as they grow in their faith, and JoBeth leads the charge in making that vision a reality. Overseeing both Kids and Student Ministries, JoBeth creates an engaging, Christ-centered environment where children and youth can build strong relationships, explore their faith, and discover their God-given purpose.
JoBeth has a degree in Elementary Education from Emporia State University and taught in the public school system for three years before joining The Light KC staff in 2022. She and her husband, Jonathan, have three beautiful children: Samuel, Landon, and Lena. With three so close in age, life is never boring! When she can find the time, she enjoys singing alongside her husband on the piano, and painting.
JoBeth is dedicated to meeting kids and students where they are, providing programs and activities that are both fun and meaningful. Whether it’s through creative Bible lessons, dynamic events, or service opportunities, she strives to equip every young person to shine their light in the world.

Amber Fletcher
Church Administrator
Amber is the Church Administrator here at The Light KC. She loves bringing people together by organizing special events, like the women's Garden Party, Trivia Night, or holiday meals. She is a teacher, and received a degree in Education from Oklahoma Wesleyan University and her Masters in Education with and Emphasis in ESOL at Mid America Nazarene University.
Amber and her husband, Alex, are thrilled to be expecting their first child after years of struggling through infertility and loss. She is the president for local non-profit, KCinfertility, and is passionate about supporting others on their journey to parenthood. She also serves as the chair for the city of Prairie Village's VillageFest committee. When she’s not busy, you’ll find her traveling, gardening, or snuggling with her cats!
